James Wesley Brookins

My name is James Brookins and I have been playing baseball since I was four years old. It has always been a passion of mine and my goal is to take my talents to a high level college. I enjoy helping my team over my own personal success and take pride in being a leader wherever I play. School is also important to me and I currently hold a 3.6 GPA and have earned multiple Dean’s List certificates.

I am coachable, learn fast, and am a team player. I can hit the ball to all parts of the diamond and pride myself in my fielding abilities, specifically my range. I am a sidearm/submarine pitcher who also pitches over the top. I throw a fastball, sinker, curveball, slider, and changeup across both arm angles. I also have a deep knowledge, understanding and love for all parts of the game. Additionally I enjoy sports broadcasting and diving deeper into the numbers of baseball and other sports.

Overall, baseball has shaped me into who I am, and I know that no matter where I go in life, the lessons I’ve learned on and off the field will always be with me.
