My name is Andrew Nelson and since I was 3 years old baseball has been a part of my everyday life. I played at Encino Little League until I was 12 and made the all-star team every year I was there. I am now the starting center fielder at Sierra Canyon and hit lead off. On the field, I am a quick and fast outfielder as I run a 6.5 in the 60 yard dash. My speed allows me to run down difficult plays in the field as well as steal bases. At the plate, as a left-handed hitter, I can drive the ball to all fields, hitting singles, doubles, and triples. If I need to lay down a bunt I can bunt for a hit or get the job done with a sacrifice. This year I received the honor of 1st team All Mission League as well as the Defensive Player of the Year Award by my teammates and coaches. I have a strong baseball IQ, specifically my high situational awareness. I am a very hard worker on and off the field which makes me very coachable. In the classroom, I maintain a 4.3 GPA and focus on balancing baseball and my academics. Baseball is an important part of my life and my goal is to play baseball at the Division I level while earning a college degree at a top level university.
